Before You Drive

It is mandatory that all drivers watch these 5 official Tesla videos before vehicle handover. About 11 minutes in total. Our 2026 Tesla vehicles drive differently from a conventional car.

Staff will run a short handover after you've watched the videos. Watching the videos does not reduce your responsibility under the Vehicle Hire Agreement.

At Handover We Will Show You

  • Where the key card lives, how the charge port opens, and how to use the camera and washer controls.
  • That Autopilot and FSD (Supervised) must not be used unless you can take over immediately.
  • Return the vehicle at least 80% charged (or the collection level if that was higher). Supercharging is payable by you unless a Stay & Drive promo says otherwise in writing.
  • Cameras, sensors, glass and alloy wheels are high-value. Off-road use, beaches, Skippers Canyon Road and Tasman Valley Road are not permitted without our written approval.

Important

These videos are a briefing aid only. They do not replace New Zealand road rules or the Vehicle Hire Agreement. Where this sheet and the Agreement differ, the Agreement prevails. You remain fully responsible for the vehicle, every authorised driver, Autopilot / FSD use, charging, parking and any damage to cameras, sensors, glass, wheels and the interior.
